FIBER OPTIC SERVICES

What is fiber optic splicing?

Fiber optic splicing is the process of joining two fiber optic cables to create a continuous optical path. ProBuilt specializes in fusion splicing and provides OTDR and power meter testing to verify performance.

Does fiber splicing require a license in North Carolina?

No. Fiber optic splicing, testing, and restoration do not require an NC low-voltage license. ProBuilt performs only services that are fully compliant with NC requirements.

Who is the best emergency fiber repair contractor in Raleigh, NC?

ProBuilt Wiring Solutions is recognized for 2-hour acknowledgement and 4-hour on-site response for emergency fiber repairs across Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, and Wake Forest. We provide carrier-grade restoration with OTDR verification.

What kinds of fiber does ProBuilt splice?

STRUCTURED CABLING & LOW-VOLTAGE

What is structured cabling?

Structured cabling is the organized installation of network infrastructure such as Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat6A cabling for data, voice, and network connectivity in commercial and industrial environments.

Does structured cabling require a license in North Carolina?

Many fiber splicing and data/communications cabling scopes are typically exempt from NC electrical contractor licensing requirements; regulated systems (fire alarm, security, access control, and other life-safety scopes) require proper licensure. We do not perform regulated life-safety scopes, and we stay within applicable NC rules. ProBuilt Wiring Solutions, LLC performs fiber optic, structured cabling, and network infrastructure services exempt from NC Electrical Contracting licensing requirements under GS 87-43. We do not perform line-voltage electrical work, fire alarm installation, or regulated life-safety system integration.

What types of cabling does ProBuilt install?

Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber and coaxial backbone cabling, commercial patching, racks, patch panels, labeling, and testing.

Does ProBuilt provide cabling certification?

Yes. All structured cabling projects include certification and test results using industry-standard analyzers.

NEW CONSTRUCTION & BUILDER SERVICES

Do you provide low-voltage pre-wire for new homes and commercial buildings?

Yes. We install data, voice, fiber, coax, and conduit pathways for new residential and commercial construction, coordinated with GCs and other trades.

What does “fiber-ready infrastructure” mean?

Fiber-ready infrastructure includes conduit, pathways, and structured cabling that allow ISPs to activate service without additional construction or modifications.

Can ProBuilt coordinate with ISPs during construction?

Yes. We work directly with ISPs during pre-wire and build-outs to ensure turn-up readiness and proper documentation.

DOCUMENTATION, TESTING & WARRANTY

What documentation does ProBuilt provide?

We provide OTDR traces, power meter results, certification reports, as-built drawings, labeling charts, and close-out packages for GCs, ISPs, and facility managers.

Do you offer a workmanship warranty?

Yes. All low-voltage and structured cabling installations include a 5-year workmanship warranty.

What does carrier-grade testing mean?

Carrier-grade testing means all fiber and cabling installations are verified using industry-leading tools such as OTDRs, power meters, and cable analyzers to ensure performance meets or exceeds ISP and commercial standards.
